CHEMO DAY 41

CYCLE 2 DAY 19

This morning was idled away by watching rugby, however the game between Scotland and Japan was epic and well worth the time. I can now tease a Scottish friend of mine about the outcome. By lunch time I was well and truly full of rugby and needed to go to the gym. The gym proved to be a painful experience as I seem to have acquired a pain in my side. I’ve no idea if it is muscular or related to the cancer but I needed to take a couple of paracetamol when I got home to ease it. I’m hoping it will not interfere with my sleep tonight. On the up side I managed an hour on the cross trainer and burnt off 741 calories. On the down side my weight continues upwards to the point where I am now 97 kilos. I feel a diet coming on.

Crucially I checked my lastest blood results. Once again my PSA has dropped, which means I am still being responsive to the treatment. The one bad result is the lowering of my platelet score to outside the normal range. I will need to discuss this with the oncologist tomorrow. Anyway having checked through my results and eaten dinner it was time to go out for the evening.

As the poster says, it was a celebration of Paul Simon’s Graceland album. I young vocalist and good guitarist along with a band and the South African Cultural Choir UK, performed Paul Simon songs in the first half of the performance and then the whole of the Graceland album in the second half.

lead vocalist and the “choir”.

As you can see the “choir” was an octet. I say no more. On the whole it was an enjoyable evening, the Leicester audience seemed enthusiastic and called for an encore, which they got. So it is back home and time to write a short blog before preparing for the appointment with the oncologist tomorrow morning. Hopefully I get ot move onto cycle three with out a hitch.
