CHEMO DAY 68

CYCLE 4 DAY 5

TODAY I HAVE LAZED ON THE BEACH AND WAITED FOR MY BODY TO CATCH UP WITH MY MIND

A lazy Saturday waiting for my body to catch up with my mind. All I’ve done is prepare for the conference next week by running off the programme and then packing. This was a major challenge but I think I’ve put together a wardrobe that will see me through. This is the last time this conference will be held in Great Windsor Park in Cumberland Lodge and it will be my 30th attendance. It seems there is potential for all sorts of feeling around this, especially after presenting last year. There will be one less friend and colleague to attend this year so there will be a poignancy to the event for me. It feels like a transition where things are moving on, but for many it will be their first time and will know no different. I suppose its all about when and where you step into the stream. Or as a friend of mine noted “The Chinese have a saying: That if you sit by the stream long enough the bodies of your enemies will float by.”

Reminds me of a story about a priest who was preaching about anger and asked his congregation to think of someone who they were angry with and to think about for giving them. As he went around the congregation people could identify someone and could find words to forgive them, until he got to old Freda. The priest looked at her and said “are you sure there is no one that you are angry with, there must be someone?” Freda thought for a moment and then looked at the priest and said; “nope, I out lived them all!” That’s not a bad ambition.
